Old Fort Pride! Deep Inside! SOAR!

Our mission at Old Fort Elementary School is to create opportunities for all students to be problem solvers, compassionate leaders and difference makers. This mission can only be accomplished through the partnership of school, families and community. Learning is not easy and involves hard work by everyone; students, teachers, parents and the principal. It involves making mistakes, meeting challenges and sharing ideas.
At Old Fort Elementary, we believe everyone has the potential to lead. We nurture these leadership skills by providing educational experiences in a safe and rigorous learning environment. Instruction is based on the North Carolina Common Core Standards. The 7 Habits of Happy Kids is incorporated into the daily instruction and extra curricular activities offered at the school.

We value the involvement of parent/guardians in a child's education and feel this involvement is directly related to academic success. To maximize your child's learning potential, we would like to emphasize the following:

Students are at school on time each day.
Attend school events and Parent Conferences
Read daily with your child
Expect and encourage positive behavior at school
Monitor daily homework and school communications
Old Fort Elementary School is an excellent place to learn. We look forward to partnering with you and your family.

Respectfully,
Jill Ward
