Hello all! I am so thrilled to be a teacher at Old Fort Elementary School! I have been in the McDowell County School System since 1998. I have had many roles throughout the years. I have been a substitute, an assistant, a bus driver and a teacher. In 2004 I obtained my degree from Mars Hill College and have taught grades first thru fourth since then. I have been at Old Fort for almost a year, teaching second grade. Before that, I was with the wonderful people of North Cove Elementary School.
My family is changing so quickly. I have a step-son who is married and blessed me with a grandchild. He is four years old and keeps me smiling. My daughter is a junior in college and will be getting married next year. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to have pets where I live, so I have grandogs. My son and my daughter both have dogs so I get to play whenever I see them. I attend Turkey Cove Baptist Church and love singing in the choir.
McDowell County is a special place that truly cares about it's community, especially the kids. I am so thankful to get the opportunity to teach and to be a part of so many lives. I am blessed!
