I was born in Kentucky, but have spent most of my life in Georgia. I received my Associate's degree from Truett-McConnell College and a Bachelor's degree in Education from North Georgia College and State University. Several years ago, I went back to school and received a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College. I have continued my education by earning a gifted endorsement and participating in various other workshops and trainings.
I have been teaching for 18 years, all at the elementary level. I love helping children develop and grow not just academically, but socially and creatively as well. I enjoy working with a great team of like-minded teachers, investing together in the lives of children and families. I am a wife and a mother of three including a daughter and two sons. We have recently moved to North Carolina and are enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and small town atmosphere.
My hobbies include reading, shopping, painting, crafts, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy a daily dose of Dr. Pepper and chocolate to make the days go down a little smoother. I'm looking forward to a fantastic year at Old Fort Elementary!
